PETA is bugged by Obama's fly swat

By Rose Stricker ( Contact )   June 18, 2009

President Obama swatted a fly with his bare hand, but PETA says he should have been more compassionate.
Seriously? For real? This bothers PETA?
Who of us hasn't swatted a fly?

I suppose we should encourage horse owners to tie down tails so horses aren't abusing "the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals". Right?

Right?

What else is new for PETA. While I agree with their cause to help protect animals, it's reactions like this and their idiotic stunts and protests that make this organization an absolute joke and a national punchline.

They typical house fly lives only 24 hours up to 70 hours in a lab. So that fly you find in your house in January is the 100th great grandkid of the one who got in your house in the summer. So yeah it is rediculous!!

bwheelock: I believe a White Housefly can live as long as eight years, but can be removed after four years if a majority desires it.

How long is the life span of a house fly (or even a White House fly), anyway??
And I would like to reiterate that I wasn't sure flies were animals. Are insects animals?
